Update 4/29/13: Ethan, Cooper, and Lacie have all gone home to their amazing new families! Ethan's new name is Easton, Lacie got to keep her name, and Cooper's new name is Becks. Ethan now lives in Los Angeles, Lacie lives in Westlake Village, and Cooper lives in Pacific Palisades by the beach! Cooper and Lacie stayed here for a few extra weeks of training and learned a lot! They both went home knowing come, sit, shake, down, roll over, look, stay (30 seconds), let's go outside/inside, go potty, crate, on your bed, heel/let's go, turn, sit (when we stop), how to play fetch (sit, go get it, bring it to me, drop it, sit), no, off, leave it, wait, and ok (release command). They went home fully potty trained, beginning leash trained, and beginning crate trained! They learned all of this by 11 weeks old! Wow! There are 4 adorable puppies still here: Teddy, Roxy, Zoey, and Sophie, and they are getting extra training too! Their adoption status letters will be sent out soon! Email us a reminder if you are very interested in either of these puppies so that your application will get considered!
Update: 3/24/13: New adorable 5 week old puppy pics are up on their individual pages! This was their first time outside and they loved it. The puppies have been continuing their potty training into the next phase, including transitioning to going on scheduled potty breaks outside. They have started their crate training, and continue their training on sitting and waiting for pets, not jumping up, not whining for attention, and chewing toys instead of other objects. They are all being socialized, played with, trained, and loved every day. Their clicker training is continuing with the commands come, sit, shake, and lay down. They are all very loving, smart, and sweet little puppies! Check out their cute new photos on their pages!
Update 3/17/13: New 4 week old pics are up on their individual pages! While the puppies were 4 weeks old, they all learned a lot! I worked a lot with them on not jumping up and not crying for attention so that they won't do this in their new home. When I first started, they would all jump up on the sides of their play pen and whine for attention. However, after training, they all now know to come over and sit and wait for attention quietly and they know they won't get any attention unless they do this! They are so very patient and just sit there waiting quietly for their turn to get pets, praise, attention, and show off their tricks. It is really amazing that they can be so patient at such a young age! Also during 4 weeks old, I started shaping their behaviors and teaching their first basic commands: come, sit, and shake. Cooper was the first to learn how to come, sit, and shake at a mere 4 weeks old! Roxy learned how to come, sit, and shake next, followed by Teddy. All three of them are so people motivated and just love attention so they will do anything for pets and praise. They also moved from a small area with a bed and potty pad to a large place with a bed, toys, and a puppy pad holder that contained puppy pads. These weeks have been the most time intensive for potty training because when they move from the small space to the large space, they go from 90% accuracy in potty training to about 50% accuracy due to the over abundance of empty space and the distance of the potty pad. This means that I was cleaning up a lot of messes and changing a lot of puppy pads all day and night to help them stay clean and adjust to their new larger space with just one puppy pad in a holder to go potty on. Otherwise they would just rip up all the loose puppy pads because that's just what little puppies do. So now they are working their way back up to 90% accuracy again but still have misses sometimes. They also started eating water-soaked solid puppy food and they just love it. The food I feed is one of the best rated foods in terms of ingredients and healthiness. It has all the vitamins and nutrients that growing puppies need. The first few ingredients are whole meats including chicken, turkey, duck, and salmon. All of these nutrients and their early neurological stimulation helped them learn their first commands and tricks super early. They all now know come, sit, and shake and they just love to show off! Hopefully I will be able to get videos of them doing their tricks soon. I just put up individual pages for each puppy and their pages include a 2 week old puppy pics slideshow, a brand new 4 weeks old puppy pics slideshow, and a description about each puppy and their personality and traits. I have two other sets of puppy photos that I am working on getting up soon. One set is of them at 4.5 weeks playing with toys in the empty pool, and the other set is of their first time going outside to play at 5 weeks old. Hopefully I will have those up soon, until then enjoy their new 4 weeks old pics on their pages! Their training continues this week!
Update 3/3/13: The new 2013 puppies are absolutely adorable! They are called Lacie, Sophie, Zoey, Roxy, Teddy, Ethan, and Cooper! They are very sweet, smart, social, friendly, and silly playful little puppies! Watch their photo slideshows below to see these cuties! You can also click to see all photos in the picasa photo album. Make sure you watch the whole slideshow or scroll down because the best photos are generally at the end of each album. They were 2.5 to 3 weeks old in these pics, and I will be doing a new set at 4 to 5 weeks old. They started their first phase of potty training at 2.5 weeks old and already use their potty pad seperated from their bed about 90% of the time now (sometimes they aim wrong or don't walk quite far enough, but always with the best of intentions!) They are also highly responsive to voices and will wake up and run over when I start talking to them. This week I will start shaping their behaviors for their training on the commands "come" and "sit" but they have already started coming over when I call them and they love attention. They have had a special form of puppy early neurological stimulation that is used to raise super dogs for the military and guide dogs for the blind. This has helped them develop their developmental milestones, senses, and awareness very fast! I'm intentionally shaping all of their behaviors to make them into the best possible super companions for their new homes. I spend as much time as possible interacting with them, talking to them, petting them, holding them, and shaping their behaviors. They are very loved and spoiled already! They will be trained the same way as our previous two litters and I'm looking forward to starting that training this week now that they are walking and running around! Look at how cute they are!
